The Made in Sheffield Awards honour the innovation, quality, and global impact of manufacturers across the region - showcasing the very best of what Sheffield makes.

The Made in Sheffield Awards 2026 will once again celebrate the outstanding achievements of South Yorkshire’s manufacturing sector, recognising excellence, innovation and leadership across the region.

The awards will honour world-class companies based within South Yorkshire’s ‘S’ postcode, showcasing the products, skills and expertise being developed and exported across the UK and internationally. The event provides an important platform to highlight the strength, resilience and continued evolution of Sheffield’s manufacturing heritage.

The awards dinner will take place at Cutlers’ Hall, bringing together senior figures from manufacturing, industry partners and stakeholders for an evening of celebration, networking and recognition.

The Made in Sheffield Awards remain a flagship event for the region’s manufacturing community, offering businesses of all sizes the opportunity to gain industry recognition, raise their profile and celebrate the achievements of their teams.

Sustainable/Ethical Manufacturer Award

Winner: Andel
As a manufacturer of water, oil and gas-leak detection systems, Andel has embedded sustainability throughout the organisation and is committed to be Net Zero by 2025. The judges praised the company’s multi-faceted approach, not only to environmental protection but to its people and facilities, the local community and overseas charities. They also commented that its simple yet effective strategy is an inspiration to others.

Export Award

Winner: ICD Europe
ICD Group’s exports account for 63 per cent of its annual turnover. It recently established a facility in Australia, where it has grown from zero in 2017 to £22.5m in 2023. The judges praised ICD’s impressive growth in what is “a challenging market” and added that it reflects the global recognition of metallurgical skills and products out of this region.

Food & Drink Award

Winner: Cafeology
Cafeology specialises in ethically sourced coffee through long-term relationships with farmers across Latin America, supplying its products to the out-of-home and retail markets. The judges commended the quality food and drink offering in the region and said that Cafeology stood out for its year-on-year growth, investment in innovation and skills, and strong sustainability profile.

Manufacturing Innovation Award

Winner: LabLogic
LabLogic manufactures instrumentation and software for detecting and measuring radioactivity in highly regulated environments. This includes a software package which is digitising data management for the treatment of cancers. The judges praised the company’s commercial success and the way in which it has strategically positioned its core products globally through international partnerships.

Apprentice of the Year Award

Winner: Dan Ferrow, Stanley Black & Decker
Dan is delivering process improvement at Stanley Black & Decker by developing and implementing operational apps throughout its European network facilities. A new system he developed has saved the site an annual £60,000 spend. The judges were “blown away” by Dan’s achievements and the impact he has made on the company utilising his skills as an Industry 4.0 engineer.

Special Recognition Award

Winner: Standing at the Sky’s Edge
Described as a “love letter to Sheffield”, Standing at the Sky’s Edge is a multi-award winning musical with music and lyrics by Sheffield-born artists Richard Hawley and Chris Bush, and directed by Sheffield Theatres’ artistic director Robert Hastie. Hailed as “the most exciting new British musical in years” by WhatsOnStage, Standing at the Sky’s Edge charts the hopes and dreams of three generations over the course of six tumultuous decades, navigating universal themes of love, loss and survival. It is the first production to receive the Made in Sheffield trademark, which the judges say will be significant in promoting the wealth of talent in our region to a wider audience.

Winner: Equi-Trek
This year marks the 25th anniversary of Equi-Trek, which has grown to become the largest horsebox and horse trailer manufacturer in the UK. It operates from a 75-acre site in Stocksbridge and has 50 dealerships worldwide, with plans to expand into new markets. The judges said that Equi-Trek exemplifies the manufacturing talent here in South Yorkshire, and is “going places” thanks to its impressive growth both nationally and overseas.
