Startling statistics present demand for EMS sustainability seminar

19 June 2013

Due to recent published statistics on Scotland’s carbon emission levels, EMSc (UK) Ltd, market leading manufacturer of the Powerstar voltage optimisation system, will hold a Continuing Professional/Personal Development (CPD) seminar in Glasgow to provide support to the local business community in tackling high carbon emission levels.

The seminar will provide an unmissable information resource for business professionals, providing an interactive platform to determine how they can reduce electricity costs and improve overall efficiency through the use of a green technologies – in particular voltage optimisation. The free to attend event will take place on the 9th July at the Best Western Garfield House Hotel, Cumbernauld Road, Stepps, Glasgow, G33 6HW.

Figures published by Scotland’s Chief Statistician on 7 June, indicate that carbon dioxide accounted for 77 per cent of Scottish greenhouse gas emissions in 2011. Although emissions may be falling, the Climate Change (Scotland) Act 2009 has set an interim target of at least a 42 per cent reduction of greenhouse gas emissions for 2020 and 80 per cent for 2050, which means there is still some way to go.

“This seminar serves as a great platform for demonstrating the benefits of effective sustainability strategies, especially voltage optimisation, which has been used by many industries for over a decade”, said Bryan Divitt, the Livingstone based, business sales manager (Scotland) for EMSc (UK) Ltd and keynote presenter at the upcoming seminar.

Mr. Divitt added, “Businesses have a significant part to play in helping Scotland reach the upcoming emissions targets of 2020 and 2050. It is because of this, that we decided to respond, by providing the information resource in the form of a seminar, to help the Scottish business community address their individual needs”

“Powerstar is particularly relevant in Scotland, as businesses have to deal with the voltage supply coming into a building at a level higher than required for electrical devices. By lowering the supply, businesses can cut energy bills by on average, 12 to 15 per cent a year. Couple this with reduced CO2 emissions, a no maintenance solution, guaranteed savings and Powerstar represents a legitimate solution for many Scottish businesses.”

The breakfast seminar will take place on the 9th July from 8.30am until 10.30am.

Attendees will be awarded with training certificates and self-assessment forms on completion of the event.  Bookings can be made by calling 01142 576 200, or by emailing tracy.eaton@ems-uk.org. There is also an opportunity to book online at http://ems-uk.org/events.html
